SA: Union says mental health services close to collapse

The Public Service Association says South Australia's mental health services face collapse
unless there's a major funding boost in next month's state budget.

Union general secretary JAN MCMAHON says mental health services need at least $40 million
to fill a funding black hole.

She says there's rising public demand for services with the government moving to slash resources.

Ms MCMAHON says mental health service have borne the brunt of the government's low
funding policy for health.

The union has sent a detailed submission to the government calling for the funding boost.
